Prime Vine Winery is a new wedding and reception venue in the Portage Lakes and Akron, Ohio area. Not only is it a historical property on the National Register of Historic Places, but it’s also a winery!
The venue hosts 16 acres that include a pond, grape vines, and the historic carriage and main houses. This venue is a great location for an intimate wedding!

The three-story, nearly 7,000-square-foot mansion, sits off the road and has a tree-lined driveway. It still has its original floors, plaster walls, woodwork and wooden doors. There’s also 9-foot ceilings, large bedrooms, a separate staircase for the servants, four fireplaces and multiple sun rooms.
The massive, brick colonial and carriage house were built between 1919 and 1921. Today, the home and carriage house have been restored and renovated. The estate includes a vineyard, apple orchard, wine tasting room and events space.
Our Styled Bridal Shoot was Featured in Today’s Bride
My amazing wedding planning cohort, Jena Eichler and I wanted to support local wedding vendors for a moody bridal session we dreamed up. Because of its historical charm and location away from all the the hustle and bustle, I knew Prime Vine Winery was the perfect location.
Jena had a vision for a moody, Fall bridal shoot that I loved and we quickly got to work listing the other AMAZING local vendors that we wanted to work with.
After securing the venue, next, we knew we needed a florist that could create something beautiful and unique. I immediately thought of Acorn and Evergreen Floral Studio. Located on S. Water Street in Kent, this floral studio is hands down one of my favorite to work with! They created a gorgeous bouquet, hair piece, and several other floral arrangements for the shoot.
And finally, we of course needed the perfect dress for the model to wear. We wanted to find a local bridal shop and after reaching out to Elyse’s Boutique, we knew they would have just what we were looking for. They provided a stunning long sleeve, lace wedding dress that did not disappoint! Located in the heart of Portage Lakes on East Turkeyfoot Lake Road, Elyse’s Boutique has gorgeous wedding dresses as well as bridesmaids gowns, mother’s gowns, flower girl dresses, and accessories.

The styled shoot was featured in Today’s Bride and the amazing Jena Eichler from River Top Event Coordinating made it all come together perfectly. Jena offers both coordinating and planning and specializes in outdoor ceremonies and receptions.
